I’ve recently been touting myself as a web designer and developer that advocates web standards, usability and accessability, however my own site is designed by someone else, based on a system developed by someone else, and isn’t strictly standards compliant! It’s about time I recitified this, so by the end of January 2006, you’ll see a completely new face on Ejecutive.
I plan to make Ejecutive a showcase of my skills and capabilities, which will be pushed in the process. Initially, I’m going to create my own custom theme for WordPress, which will be the first phase due to be finished in January 2006, then the next phase would be to move the CMS towards my own homegrown system that would offer me much more flexibility. But thats very far away.
Stay tuned, as I plan to keep a running log of all my work. But for now, here’s a taster of what’s to come:
- A custom built CMS written in .NET.
- A well researched and evaluated design thats compliant to at least XHTML 1.0 Strict and accessability guidelines.
- Cross browser compatible XHTML and CSS code, which will support at least Gecko, Safari (KHTML) and Opera.
- The design must degrade gracefully for other browsers.
