Alright, so a pen isn’t a good analogy. But I’d say I’d maybe use OS X 50% of the time and Windows 50% (depending on how much work I’m doing and how many games I’m playing, both of which are predominatly Windows tasks).

Exactly… only very rarely will you need to use both at the same time, and for the sake of continuity and convenience, we often only use one at a time! More than one gets confusing!

I use gel roller pens, I can’t use biros now because they just don’t write well enough. I suppose pens and operating systems make for a surprinsingly good analogy.

Yeah... but you don't need the best. That's why we have Bic biros and WHSmith biros!

I find its nicer to used OS X then Windows if I don’t need anything Windows specific. Also, the MacBook Pro I think beats (in design, engineering and quality) any other laptop out at the moment.

Well, I prefer using my 19″ (soon to be 24″ Dell monster!) TFT, nice Microsoft keyboard and slick laser Logitech mouse if I’m at my desk. But I’m thinking that as I’m going to be travelling a lot, a laptop is going to become more and more useful. And not having to lug two laptops around (OS X and Windows) when I need both Windows and OS X would be nice.

So basically, your desktop is more or less useless. It also means that (assuming the MacBook Pro runs with a Radeon X1600) the MacBook Pro has a severe shortcoming in the graphics department…

I can now get a MacBook Pro (funds permitting), and install Windows and OS X on it. Therefore, the only reason for needing my desktop is for games that a Radeon X1600 can't run.

So... what is the point? Is it just to satisfy the geeks that reckon a 200GB Hard Drive is too small and see this as justification?

Just buy a PC dammit!
